Please reach us at info@akerspharmacy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We will put all the medication that you take by mouth that are solid tablets or capsules and that you take routinely in the 1paks. If you take something as needed or just every once in a while it will come from our pharmacy to you in a prescription bottle. If you use inhalers, creams, ointments, suppositories, or liquids they can be filled at the same time as your packs but are not included in the pack. We can add your over the counter items to your 1paks as well.
We take the work of sorting your medicine and putting them in the pill boxes off your plate giving you more time to spend with family and friends and doing the things you enjoy while we do the work for you.
We can give you your Sundays back. You also have the freedom of taking one dose or multiple days of doses with you if you are going out to eat or traveling for a few days. You don’t have to take your whole pill box with you or dump out one time slot and find something to carry them in.
We can dispense a partial supply in a prescription vial until it is time for you to get your 1pak next month. Then your new medication will be in the 1pak when your receive your new box.
Each month, we will contact your doctor for refills on your medications that are in your 1paks. If your doctor denies your prescription, we will notify you so you can contact their office. It is important to note that all patients are responsible for keeping up with their doctors appointments so they are able to get refills for their medications.
We will also reach out to you to make sure there are no changes in your current medications that are placed in your 1paks.
At least a week before your 1pak runs out, we will give you a call to review your current medications to make sure there are no changes to your 1pak, refill your 1pak for the following month, and review the status of your current medications.
During this time, we will also talk to you about any new prescriptions we may have received from your doctor’s office to see if you want to add those to your 1pak.
You are able to travel/fly with your 1paks. TSA does not require passengers to have medications in prescription bottles. You can bring your medication in pill or solid form in unlimited amounts as long as it is screened. You can travel with your medication in both carry-on and checked baggage.
It’s highly recommended you place these items in your carry-on in the event that you need immediate access. Check the TSA website for more info.
